What belongs in a nightstand and what should be stored somewhere else?

Mr. OrganizedMr. Organized's Answer

NIGHTIME MEDS OR PRESECTIPTIONS, soothing lotions for pain areas like BenGay, bottled water, a flashlight, then whatever you have room for. Compartment organizers or even a junk dryer organizer can work well depending on how large your drawer is.

Keep everyday favorites within comfortable reach and move less-used pieces to secondary storage. Before buying an organizer, measure the usable space and check that you can still open drawers, doors and lids fully.

My final check is practical: can you find what you need quickly, put it back just as easily, and see when the space is getting full? If not, simplify the categories or move the storage closer to where you use it. An organizing system should make life easier, not become another chore.
