How do I organize baking supplies so I can find everything quickly?
Keep baking supplies together in one area. Other than large bulk staples such as flour and sugar, I like using labeled clear or white bins. Use one bin for baking tools and accessories — cookie cutters, decorating tools, cupcake liners, icing tips and spatulas — and another for smaller ingredients such as baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar, chocolate chips and food coloring. The goal is to be able to pull out the category you need instead of searching several shelves.
Put the things you reach for most often in the easiest spots, and reserve high, low or deep storage for occasional-use supplies. Group like items together so you can see what is running low before buying more.
My final check is practical: can you find what you need quickly, put it back just as easily, and see when the space is getting full? If not, simplify the categories or move the storage closer to where you use it. An organizing system should make life easier, not become another chore.
