How should I organize a dresser so the drawers do not become overstuffed?

Mr. OrganizedMr. Organized's Answer

Use fabric compartment organizers sized to the garments, or try the fold-and-file method. For T-shirts, fold each side toward the center, fold the sleeves back, then fold the shirt in half or thirds so it forms a compact rectangle that can stand upright in the drawer. For pants and shorts, fold them lengthwise, bring the hems toward the waistband, then fold into thirds and stand them upright in a row.

Keep everyday favorites within comfortable reach and move less-used pieces to secondary storage. Before buying an organizer, measure the usable space and check that you can still open drawers, doors and lids fully.

Measure the real opening and any obstructions before ordering, including hinges, handles, pipes and the room needed to pull something out. The best organizer is the one you can use comfortably every day, not necessarily the one that fills every inch.
