Where should I store holiday dishes that I only use once or twice a year?
Store holiday dishes in padded or zippered china-storage cases rather than loose on a shelf. Keep each set together, label the outside clearly and place the cases in a cabinet, closet or other protected storage area where they won't be crushed by heavier items.
Put the things you reach for most often in the easiest spots, and reserve high, low or deep storage for occasional-use supplies. Group like items together so you can see what is running low before buying more.
Store pieces by occasion and use, not simply wherever they happen to fit. Label the outside of each container with enough detail that next season you can find the right box without opening them all.
